Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here is a list of frequently asked questions that parents ask.

Is sedation safe for my child?

Yes, it is extremely safe when properly administered by a skilled pediatric dentist. At North Tacoma Pediatric Dentistry, we strictly follow the sedation guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and always review sedation options and procedures with you and your family.

Do you perform cosmetic dentistry for kids?

Yes. We work with all white anterior crowns. We can also do baby dentures if extractions are required, but this is not the ideal treatment for most children. Whenever possible, we rely on conservative methods that preserve the health and integrity of your child’s teeth.

Do you perform posterior white crowns?

We do! But although they look great, please keep in mind that these are fairly new crowns and not every child is a good candidate for this approach. We are happy to discuss this option with you in detail to determine if it’s the best fit prednisone for your child.

What’s your opinion on fluoride?

In prednisone moderation, we believe that fluoride is very helpful for preventing tooth decay. It strengthens developing enamel, making teeth more resistant to bacteria that cause cavities and other problems.
